Vacature: Ambitious intern/analyst Securities

With over 100 years of experience, Kempen & Co is a leading European boutique investment bank in the areas of Securities brokerage, Asset Management, Corporate Finance and Investments. Kempen Securities focuses on listed companies in the Benelux (home market) and in three specialized niches, in European Real Estate, European Life Sciences (Pharma, Biotech, Medtech, Healthcare) and increasingly European Cleantech.
The main activity is equity brokerage for international institutional investors. Industry surveys such as Thomson Extel show our services are regarded as top notch in our areas: in the last survey Kempen Securities was elected in 2010 as a ranked Top 3 European Real Estate equities broker and Top 2 general Benelux equities broker. The Securities Division employs 70 professionals in Amsterdam and New York in research, brokerage and trading. Currently the research team exists out of 15 professionals.
The Research teams of analysts are working on a daily basis with the valuation of listed companies and analyzing specific business, industry, macroeconomic and financial developments. On this basis they develop their own vision of the sector and inform and advise them on international institutional investors about buying and selling of listed shares.
Description
The internship will be for six months and can be part of a master’s thesis. You will be a full member of the team and responsible for:
- maintaining and building DCF and RNPV valuation models for the team's companies under coverage
- maintaining and building excel-based tools for Bloomberg-based data analysis
- data analysis and data incorporation into reports and presentations
- contributing to team research reports
Requirements
Candidates following academic education, preferably in Mathematics, Economics and/or Finance. You are commercially strong, you can easily convince people and you have strong social and interpersonal skills. Entrepreneurship, customer orientation, numeric and analytical ability as well as drive are key competencies for this internship. Knowledge of MatLab (VBA, SQL) is a preference. Experience in Biotech is not required.
